As you probably are aware, Family Physicians of Arlington has closed its doors. My staff and I are currently tying up loose ends involving patient care and are then turning our energies to packing up the space before the September 30th lease termination deadline.
The phones will continue to function and will be answered during business hours when possible. A message may be left which will be retrieved as soon as possible. There is no longer after hours medical coverage. I will not be able to evaluate or treat active or new medical problems during this transition. Any medical problems should be brought to the attention of your new physician. As much as possible, I will try to be available to him/her to facilitate the transfer of care.
Prescription refills were able to be requested through 9/10. Further medication refills will have to be requested from your new physician.
Medical record requests will continue to be accepted. Until 9/20 the fee was $30 per record. Now the records have been moved to storage and requests will require 30 days to process and a $45 fee (along with the medical records release form).
Thank you for your cooperation, understanding and support during this transition in my life. I have decided to continue to practice medicine in the area and am investigating several practice options. I will keep you updated through list serve messages and my website.
Have a healthy and happy fall. I hope to see you all again soon. Don't forget to get your flu shots--the CDC recommends flu vaccine for EVERYONE 6 months and older.
